  1. Before this survey started a written agreement was reached with the Chief of Police and the Public Prosecutor in Amsterdam, that no effort would be undertaken at any time to demand any data from this research and that interviewers carrying a sample of cocaine bought for analysis from a respondent would not be prosecuted in case they would be arrested. Recourse to these agreements, designed to guarantee anonymity to the respondents, has never been necessary.
